Beckham upsets Galaxy fans

I saw this a few days ago.

And he got it again with the LA Galaxy/AC Milan match.

You can kind of understand how they feel to be honest- particularly given what he's being paid. Though this is the way it works sometimes in European football (soccer). I think the American fans aren't used it.

Funny to see a few American footie fans behaving like British one's...That had me chuckling.

The Beckham thing has been a disaster for everyone except Beckham, who is supposedly telling everyone who will listen that he is basically stealing $20 million a year from the MLS.

I agree Eddie - a farce from the beginning. I haven't read any of the links Dragon supplied, but I did see the booing on the TV news. Beckham wasn't here in LA but for a few weeks before he got injured. When that healed I seem to remember him being injured again. He's been off far more than on...and then going to Milan - I never understood The Galaxy OKing that deal after they paid so much for him, and as far as I can see he's done nowt to promote footy in the US.

The guy's just a big self built 'brand'. He's looking to make as much money as he can out of a situation. That's what he's always done. It's that simple.

Though I can understand him wanting to come back and play for the England team during the cup periods.

The question is whether the Galaxy put a buy-out clause in the contract...otherwise they are on the hook for $175 million....I can't imagine what its going to be like in 5 years if Beckham is still showing up and collecting his check.

After shopping at the local mall this weekend, my wife told me there is a new Beckham fragrance available...

(Insert joke here)
