Favourite Radio shows

Not sure if this is to everyone's taste, but I love listening to these two guys banter (and the music selections they play) on a Saturday morning on BBC Six Music. This is from an old show they used to have on London's XFM a few years ago. It's just the way their minds work that tickles me- it's my sense of humour. I think I recommended it to KW a while back, as some of the music they play is pretty good as well.

Don't mess with the Bunny.

Living in a small town out in the middle of nowhere, my radio choices are limited to 5 stations, and 2 of those are country western! In certain sections of town, a couple of really good rock 'n roll stations from Las Vegas come in crystal clear. But I rarely listen as it's always 'hit and miss' with them. I mainly listen to an AM Oldies station that doesn't have the strongest of signals. Some days you'll hear more static than music. Whilst surfing the web, I have found the best oldies station in the world originating from London, England. It was known as 'Capitol Gold,' but now it's known just as 'Gold.' You can have a listen at this link.

I’ve got a few. One is Radio Veronica, where they play a lot of songs from the eighties and nineties (which is great to work on I think); then I’ve got Q-music, for a mixture of the above and new good and bad pop songs (but with a lot of fun); the third one is Arrow Jazz FM (the name says enough, but they play dance-jazz, not proper jazz. I quite like to chill out; and the fourth one is classic fm. Here the name says enough again.

When I'm home I have the radio on all the time.

When I get up, I turn on WOR, a news talk radio show with John Gambling. At 9am I switch to WRIV for local news and talk till 11am. Then I switch to WLNG a really good oldies station.

Some days, when I'm in the mood, I listen WQUN a station from Quinnipiac University in Conn. They play old standards and some big band.

I've been listening to WLNG quite a bit lately ever since you mentioned it a while back. If fact, yesterday I listened all afternoon whilst cleaning the house & doing laundry. The music is great, or course, but those retro style station identification 'jingles' are even better.

Several times, they interrupted the music with a 'public emergency' announcement warning all the pleasure boats at sea of an impending storm and to find 'safe harbor.' I hope everyone did.

Yeah, we've had a lot of thunder storms latey and rough surf. In fact four people drowned around here last weekend, and a few people were struck by lightening, at least one fatally

My favorite DJ is Chuck Makin, he sounds like Al Bundy from Married With Children.
