It's completely thawed here since last week- we had one more snowfall one night which didn't settle. As I said before, I think we were pretty lucky where I am, I don't think it got below 2 degrees at the very worst. Though some other parts of the UK weren't so lucky...

Today it's in the 50's and we're going to have really heavy rain and wind. Back in the 20s by the end of the week, though.

I ran into a snow squall on my home yesterday. Almost all the way home with nothing going on, and then in a split second, almost zero visibility and the snow instantly stuck to and covered the road! It was wild!

Today it is frigid (now 13, up from 11), and very, very windy.

We're 'up' to 11, but with the wind it is subzero; luckily I haven't any appointments today, which is good as I'm a bit under the weather.

Hope you feel better soon Barbara.

Very windy and chilly here tonight.

You might be interested to know it's a wolf moon out there tonight Sandy.

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.
This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

It was a bit colder here tonight as well, though I haven't seen snow for weeks now. Possibly an advantage of Britain being effected by the Gulf Stream, and London's always about 2 degrees warmer than the rest of the country anyway. Either way can't believe there's still snow in the same latitude in Europe.

We're getting nailed right now; about 3 inches so far with some sleet mixed in just for fun. I'm taking a listing in the morning provided we're not under a snow emergency.

You have my sympathies. Luckily it's all gone to the south of us and is going to head on east as Caer noted. But the price we pay for skipping the snow are bloody effing cold temps for the next week.

Yeah, it's going to get cold here too. We ended up with a foot of snow; this fricking city doesn't bother ploughing residential streets, so I'm basically snowed in. Our clients are in the same boat so we rescheduled for Tuesday. John dug his van out and got in to work; the roads are crap because its really windy so everything is drifting. You would think a city this size would have better snow removal, especially since we regularly get snow, though usually not this much.

We seem to have passed on from all the bad weather a while back. It's fairly mild here- at least in London, and has been for a while. I was reading today of the snow that hit Washington DC. Doesn't sound like some of the eastern seaboard of the US is having a lot of weather 'fun' right now.

We're in a lull before the next storm, due tomorrow. According to the local paper and news outlets the city is busy clearing residential streets; I'd certainly like to know where as I saw no evidence on my side of town (and we're one of the larger areas, 67,000 people on the Hilltop). The weather folks are predicting another 5-8 inches tomorrow into Wednesday.

We've been lucky since early January with no snowstorms worth mentioning. The stuff you're getting in Ohio, Barbara, will get here on Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully, my surgery is scheduled for 9:30am. I'm hoping to make it home before it starts. It's only going to be about 5-6 inches anyway, not unusual for New England in February.

We got about 6 inches so far today; roads are crappy per usual. We're in a small lull and then a Canadian front is pushing south and will dump another 8-12 inches on us over night and in to tomorrow. I look for all the schools to be closed, which means I'll be yelling at the neighbour's kids to stop throwing snowballs at my truck.

I think we're hovering around the 8 inch mark, but the snow is blowing around pretty good with a lot of wind.

I am proud of myself though, yesterday I learned to run the snow blower all by myself. While some of you may not think it's much of a feat, I deliberately made sure not to have anything to do with that bit of machinery because it is WB's and Mini WB's job to clear the drive. But now with Mini WB off to school I no longer have and indentured servant.

I'm almost glad he's down south though because it always seemed to be the nights they called for snow or ice storms or just bad weather in general was when he decided there had to be a road trip to Grand Rapids or Chicago or somewhere in Ohio. It made me worry like crazy.

The weathermen had some 'splainin' to do last night! After frightening us all with predictions of a major nor'easter, we just got a dusting! Although some areas in the south and west of the state, and the Cape and Islands, did get more. I'm glad Caer didn't have to endure a major snowstorm while getting to and from her operation yesterday, after all.
