Someone suggested last week that the US, under it's present Administration, has a window between now and January next year to launch potential military strikes on the Iranian nuclear enrichment programme. Clearly, after that, the window will have gone for the time being in regard to the US if Obama is elected. The Iranians probably realise that and I don't doubt the Bush Administration doesn't either. I suspect the Iranians could try use that option and play this whole thing out for as long as possible. I'm guessing that the two week deadline proposed by the US was probably the right move given that circumstance potentially being manipulated by the Iranian Government.
Although the situation with Iran is worrying, it is all basically a game being played out between all these different 'parties' involved at this present stage and very interesting to watch. The old cliche still stands- it's like a game of chess.
