I like this show, dose anyone else?

Any theories on Lost?

Think they are all dead and the Island is purgatory?

Grimm....I watched this show for the first time last week....It made obsolutely no sense whatsoever to me. It is one of those programs one has to watch from the very begining I guess.

I watched one episode, and I loved it! But it comes on during church so I don't get to watch many episodes.

I would like to know what the hell a polar bear is doing on a tropical island. :-? And did the dog come back? I missed today's ending. I really hate it when animals die on shows, even though I know it is just a show.
Each morning when I awake, I experience again a supreme pleasure: that of being Ms Omnipotent.

I've watched it from the beginning and it is one of the better shows on TV. It's very much like the X-Files, in that much of the weird things are unexplained.
There is many theories about the island - it's purgatory and they all died in the plane crash; some kind of Bermuda Triangle effect, etc.
I personally think they're being intentionally obtuse. The polar bear came from a French circus that crashed there years before. There is a French woman broadcasting an SOS that they have picked up on their radio. She is the key to the weird stuff happening on the island.

I love the show but I don't know how they can possibly stretch it out over several seasons without running out of story lines. They keep using flashbacks to explain everyone's history, but eventually they'll exhaust that technique, too.

I think the mystery monster thing is getting a bit tiresome. Maybe they could have another crash on the island and bring in some new characters? Or maybe run into a native tribe who boats to the island annually for coconuts?

Is it just me or is anyone else here old enough to remember a similar but brief series in the late 60s called "The New People"? It was like a hippie commune on an island where a plane crashed (or boat was stranded) ala Gilligan's island -- with no injuries and great wardrobes for everyone.

I love Lost and have watched it from the first episode. I think Vincent is the key to the polar bear. In last nights flashback his step father seemed scared of him, and said he was "different". While he was looking at a book of birds of Australia, one of the birds pictured on the page flew into the window. It's as if he made it appear. Everytime a polar bear appears, Vincent is looking at or thinking of the comic book that Locke gave him. It had a polar bear in it. The show has a definite X-Files appeal... I imagine the paranormal will play a big role. Lost is one of the few shows that I can watch all the way through without getting bored. My entire office is hooked.

There was a lot of luggage, and who doesn't bring a new toothbrush and toothpaste with them on a flight abroad?

Actually they had only been there about 28 days when they opened the hatch.

They recovered a lot of things from the plane...there were probably shaving kits and things in the luggage. JAL used to give Business and First class passengers razors and shaving cream in the toiletries kit..not sure if they still do post 9-11. But the breath thing had occured to me to.

Well, we'll just have to wait for the San Fernando Valley parody to determine that!

On a more serious note, I have two questions:

1. Does anyone else think that there is a correlation between getting written out of the show and the legal troubles (DUI) of the Hispanic actress? I know I'd be bummed out to get canned from a top-rated tv show.

2. What are they using for TP?

With a steady diet of mangoes and fish I imagine they need something more substantive than leaves, but I'm willing to suspend belief for the sake of a good story.

Thanks for providing the name of the actress, which escaped me in the original post. I wonder if she will continue in flashback? Also, did you notice in her storyline shot in Australia that while parked outside the bar Sawyer walked by and had a brief encounter?

Yes. I thought it was excellent. It answered a lot of questions, but left us with a lot more. Like, why was Hugo sent back? Why did they keep Jack, Sawyer and Kate? Do they need them in some way? Baby making, perhaps?

The "fail safe" key was an intersesting addition along with Des. Who is he really? And why is everyone "brother" or "sister?"

And Locke admitting he was wrong. That's a first.

It's all like a chess game. Past actions influencing the present, and present actions being a part of the past as well as the future.

I like that Claire finally forgave Charlie, and that the writers honered the death of Libby. Will she come back?

"We're the good guys" definitely had a chilling effect on me.

And what about Michael and Walt? I don't think Walt will let them be rescued.

Ahh. I'm alredy looking forward to next season.

My things weren't really spoilers. I didn't say what button..I could be talking about any button. Perhaps Jack ripped a button off Kates trousers.....

Exactly. Perhaps The Button refers to the button that popped off Sawyers trousers after Hurley tried them on....
