Did you see this last night after the Super Bowl? It was the premiere of the series and the COO of Waste Management went undercover. I was quite impressed and it certainly opened his eyes - I think he really will make some changes for the little guys in the organization. I kept thinking of you throughout the whole hour!

Just saw this. I did watch it. I like Larry O'Donnell. I didn't have a lot of interaction with him but in all I feel that both the CEO and COO of WM are pretty normal guys. I used to run into Dave Steiner (the CEO) in the elevator all the time and he was usually the only one talking about his kids soccer games and not pretending to be important playing around with his blackberry.
I left WM just before this was filmed. Judging from the Houston footage, it was filmed around Rodeo time. What I find interesting is that it came just after a large reduction in force- when I was laid off. My guess is the woman at the landfill was doing the work of three people because two people were laid off. Hopefully it did help some of our field positions. Certainly he put a stop to the recycling plant docking employees hours for being late. Not only was that a violation of company policy, it was also against the law. I think it showed the company in a good light. I loved working there and hated leaving. WM has come a long way from the days of accounting scandals and organized crime. Much of the change was due to Maury Myers, who retired in 05, but Steiner and O'Donnell are good leaders and I hope the company continues to flourish.
