I sold some old music CD's that I never listen to anymore to a local record shop and they gave me $60.00 for 'em!

I finished my book (Glamorous Powers by Susan Howatch).

My step-dad gave me a new chain for my pocket watch, which I can wear from the button-hole on the lapel of my jacket when I'm not wearing a waistcoat. Unfortunately, my watch is too large and too heavy (it's made of gold) so I shall need to buy a new watch, a smaller one. I'd quite like a silver one actually.

yes our summers are too hot but then I'll take a Texas 'winter' over a Minnesota/Wisconsin winter. Wherever you live there is always a season you would rather stay in doors!

Houston is to the South of Dallas right? Isn't it on the coast there? it must get steamy hot in mid July...Here is the advantage of Minneapolis weather...Season changes....What is the temperature in Houston in January? 55-60...It's always warm there...Season changes are nice...

steamy is a bit of an understatement. Yes we are close to the gulf - about an hour to the coast. Season changes are nice I admit, but I never get tired of wearing shorts pretty much all year long and never having to shovel snow off the drive way. Horses for courses as my Dad would say!

snow is pretty - when you are indoors, by a fire, with your family and do not have to go to work. Once my kids are a little older I want to take them somewhere like CO to experience so serious snow. Snow is great when you are a kid. It is sad that we will probably never have a white Christmas here - those are cool. I expect where you live EVERY Christmas is white.

It's about 85%....We don't get as much snow as people think....And go back in time when I lived at home and ask me what I thought of the cold when I was trying to start my car to go to school....

I think Pennzoil Place is the one I meant, it just looks red in this shot from Getty! But that'll be the sunset against the windows I presume?

The Bank of America Center is the one that has the three distinct peaks. I think Penzoil Place is the one in front of it.

I used to work in the white building to the left of BOA Center. The one that looks like it has a crack going down the center. I loved working in there. It was cool when it was raining, and I would look out of my window and see clouds.

Silver
I was having lunch with a friend recently, who is not that old and he was saying how much Houston has changed - saying how when he was a kid nobody would even consider living in such outlying places as Katy or the Woodlands. He also remembers his dad hunting quail where the Galleria is now!

Trying to think of something but it's difficult, as I wasted the whole damn day being ill! Most inconvenient. The highlight of my day was probably talking to Faye on the phone and having a jolly good gripe about what a wasted day I'd had. That made me feel slightly better. I applied for my first credit card today, which was sorta' excitiing, I guess. Mum's also got me hooked on Ebay. I was meant to ring up UCAS but didn't (I'm thinking of going back to uni); I was meant to ring my friend about his upcoming wedding but didn't; I was meant to look into booking some more driving lessons but didn't; and I rang my Nana very briefly to ask a question and promised I'd call her back for a proper chat later on... but, guess what, I didn't. Oh well, better luck tomorrow I guess. I've got work. What a bore.

Yes blue .... it would be an absolute waste of a smart young man for you to end up with a job instead of a chosen career. You've got what it takes so go for it.

I have a feeling you will use your credit card wisely !!!!

I was once told by a person in the Banking industry that it is better to get a credit card and never use it than not to have one at all...for your credit rating, at least...In fact, I've heard its better to have a slightly less than good credit history than to not have one at all....

You can apply for a secured card that only lets you charge up to a certain amount. I have to keep calling the credit companies to lower my limits. I don't charge up to the limits, but it looks bad on your credit report if you have a 20,000 limit on one card, a $5,000 on another, etc. Besides, I have no intention of spending $5,000 at a department store!
